The Journey of Refuge
Hi, I'm Erin Rose.
I'm committed to the practice of fostering refuge. Creating a safe loving home in my body, and striving to be that in the world. I aim to live compassionately and wisely. Both my work and my life center around the remembrance that as a species we are in-it-together, with each other as well as all of life.
For 15 years I've studied the philosophy, science, and spiritual wisdom of human flourishing. I have had the privilege of studying with teachers across many lineages including Tantra yoga, Tibetan Buddhism, and mystic Christianity. I have also been lucky enough to be mentored by fabulous teachers including Kevin Courtney, founder of INSIGHT, Kate Shela co-founder of The 360 Emergence and Lena George, founder of the Emotion Hygiene Alliance.
As a little girl, I talked to angels. By college, I'd traded that for talking to myself, harshly. In my early 20s in New York City, I spiraled into an eating disorder, anxiety, and a bleak outlook on life.
Then grace brought me to yoga. In a candlelit studio with creaky floors, I felt safe in my body for the first time in years. I cried. I realized not all angels are invisible, and I began healing myself and recreating my reality from the inside out.
Today I am ever the student, and also a teacher. I've taught for The Class and The 360 Emergence along with Tantra yoga, meditation, breathwork, and yoga nidra. I get to pass on what I've learned from my teachers, my practice, and my experience.
I work with people one-on-one and in groups, both in-person in Ojai and virtually. When I work with folks, I bring all the tools in my tool kit, and we traverse together through the vast landscapes of the inner world. I hold the vision that we all get to experience pleasure in our bodies, ease in our minds, and the vast love that is right here.
Schedule an exploratory call below and find out how I can support you.
My Approach
There are aspects of our humanity that we all share, and bits that make us wholly unique. My job is to meet you where you are at, listen to where you would like to go, and craft a map to get us there.
I work with both structure and intuition, meaning whether it is a one-on-one container, a committed group, a custom experience, or a retreat, I arrive with both preparation as well as open palms. We always leave room for the mystery. What you can be sure of is that there is no place we cannot go together.
Though I love working with folks long-term because we get to experience each other’s many thresholds, I aim to bring us to a completion where you get to live your life, enhanced by our time together. Because of this, my committed mentorships span from 3 months to 1 year.
Multiple Doors
There are many doors to the same room of well-being. Some of us need to cool down, some of us need to light a fire, and it is changing all the time.
When we work together I bring with me all my tools to create a truly personalized experience. This is true for individuals and groups.
Agency
My hope is for all of us to see, feel, and know in our bones three things:
1. We are never alone.
2. We have agency in every moment.
3. Our life is more enjoyable, more efficient, and more fulfilling when we serve one another.
